Jutting out into the Southern Atlantic, a narrow strip of land bounded by Playa Mansa and the Atlantic Ocean, Punta del Este, Uruguay stands proud. As you continue northward you will come to La Barra del Maldonado, a beautiful inlet that flows from the back bay area of Maldonado out to the Atlantic Ocean. This area is where the locals go to get away from the crowded beaches.
